Property Description

Rincon Ranch: A World-Class Hunting and Recreational Legacy

Rincon Ranch is a 19,567± total acre premier recreational property offering an unmatched combination of world-class hunting, luxury accommodations, and breathtaking landscapes. A property of this scale, beauty, and historical significance is an extraordinary opportunity for the discerning buyer seeking exclusivity, adventure, and investment potential.

World-Class Hunting

Rincon Ranch is celebrated as one of the world's finest trophy hunting destinations. Its meticulously managed habitat supports thriving populations of Elk, Mule Deer, Antelope, Mountain Lions, and Black Bears; with genetics that consistently produce 400+ inch Elk and 200+ inch Mule Deer.  The improved water sources, in an otherwise very arid region, draws in big game throughout the year as evident by all the trail camera pictures.  Abundant native grass in valleys and mesas, and the secluded cliffs and canyons, give wildlife the nutrition and cover needed to grow big and grow old.  Over the past two decades, careful management has ensured unparalleled game quality and quantity, making the ranch one of North America's most coveted hunting environments.

The ranch receives 12 bull elk tags annually that can be used during the archery, muzzleloader or rifle season.  There are Over-The-Counter (OTC) tags for Mule Deer (Private-Land-Only), Mountain Lions, Antelope, and Black Bears (Private-Land-Only). Additionally, the ranch qualifies for Mule Deer Enhancement Tags, granting hunters the rare privilege to pursue Mule Deer in New Mexico during the peak rut in December and January.  The combination of trophy-quality game, generous tag allocations, and expert habitat management sets Rincon Ranch as world class hunting ranch.

A Natural Masterpiece

Spanning over 31± square miles of private, BLM, and state lands, Rincon Ranch boasts a strikingly diverse and beautiful landscape. Towering sandstone cliffs, grassy valleys, and dense groves of piñon, juniper, and ponderosa pine create an ideal habitat for wildlife. With an average elevation of 7,100 feet, the property offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding terrain.

The property includes five drilled wells and 50 acres of wildlife food plots, creating an ideal environment for supporting game and livestock. Additionally, strategically placed dirt tanks capture and store water, providing a reliable resource for wildlife and enhancing the ranch's ecosystem.

A Historical Treasure

Rincon Ranch is steeped in history, offering a fascinating connection to ancient civilizations. The property is home to Anasazi ruins, petroglyphs, and artifacts that provide glimpses into the lives of those who once inhabited the area. The historic trail system that crosses the ranch adds to its cultural significance, making it more than just a recreational property—it is a living monument to the past.

Luxury Living in the Wild

At the heart of the ranch lies the Rincon Lodge, a stunning 7,620 square-foot residence designed for comfort, elegance, and functionality. The lodge can host up to 14 guests in style, with seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Additional features include an office, utility, and storage rooms, a greenhouse, and an attached two-car garage. Nearby is a 1,440 sq ft barn for equipment and machinery storage. The property also features two rustic guest cabins, positioned away from Rincon Lodge, ideal for entertaining additional guests. ELK

Elk hunting on Rincon Ranch is world class with large bulls and a variety of seasons to hunt.  The Elk feed on the native grasses and bed in the canyons throughout the year.  Multiple water sources throughout the property, in an otherwise very arid region, helps attract and hold the Elk on the ranch.  Great Elk genetics in the region, coupled with ample feed and water on the property, allows bulls to grow impressive antlers. Having only a few large neighboring ranches translates into minimal hunting pressure in the area, allowing the Elk to reach older age classes.

The location and habitat hold Elk year-round, and bulls will remain on the property throughout the fall giving a variety of hunting options.  Elk will rut hard starting in August and carry through into October, giving both archery and rifle hunters lots of high intensity action.  A great bull to cow ratio results in a very competitive rut, with bulls aggressively seeking cows and fighting off rivals.  After the rut winds down, bulls from surrounding ranches will seek the seclusion of the cliffs to recover.  November and December can see some of the biggest bulls show up, and hunters that glass the cliffs can find some large trophy bulls.

The ranch currently receives 12 bull Elk license through the E-PLUS system:

  • Ranch-Only tags (*contact agent for more tag information)

Season Dates:

  • Archery: September 1-14 or 15-24 (must pick one season)
  • Any Legal Weapon (each tag is limited to any 5 consecutive days within the season dates)
  • October 5- December 31

MULE DEER

Mule Deer enjoy the same habitat and low hunting pressure as the Elk, and can also reach older age classes and grow some big antlers.  Plenty of velvet bucks live on the ranch through the summer and fall, and utilize the feed, water, and bedding resources.  The archery season dates allow bowhunters to pursue bucks while they are still in velvet, while muzzleloader season and any-legal-weapon season occurs after their velvet is shed.  All three seasons have Private-Land-Only OTC tags available.  The unique and highly sought after Enhancement Tags (Rincon Ranch receives 2 per year) allows hunting during the peak of the Mule Deer rut in December and January.  Very few of these tags exist in the region, and offers a rare chance to hunt Mule Deer during the rut in New Mexico.  These 2 Enhancement Tags give owners the opportunity for a truly exceptional Mule Deer hunt.

  • Private-Land-Only Mule Deer license (OTC), one tag per hunter, good for any season
  • 2 Enhancement Tags (highly coveted) can be used during the peak of the rut in December and January.
