Property Description

Bruin’s Ridge is named after the prominent mountain ridge on the property that Elk, Mule Deer, and abundant Black Bears visit frequently for food and water.  The Ponderosa Pines and native grasses on the ridge, and natural springs in the valley below provide the food, water, and cover that attract wildlife to the property.  Multiple water tanks, food plots, and tower stands make this a ready to hunt property.  There are Over-The-Counter tag options for Elk and Turkey, potential to draw 2 Black Bear tags per hunter each fall, and the property is eligible for the Landowner Preference Program for Mule Deer.  Two limited-access BLM parcels (164± & 76± acres) are adjacent to the property, and are surrounded by private land.  The views of the prominent Spanish Peaks to the West give this property a true mountain feel.

There are improvements to the property which make it more user friendly and enjoyable.  Access to the property is directly off County Road 54.2 which is maintained year-round by the county.  A good road and trail system throughout the property makes the land more accessible for hunting and improvement projects (including several building sites).  The property is partially fenced for potential cattle grazing in the future.  A domestic well is currently functional, and there are multiple water tanks installed, and several natural springs.  Well thought out food plots have been planted, and multiple strategically placed tower stands are located in good hunting areas.

The nearby town of Aguilar has the basic amenities like gas, groceries, restaurants and supplies.  Trinidad is a nearby city to the south with hospitals, hardware stores, hotels, and plenty of restaurants.  Pueblo Regional Airport is located to the north, and Colorado Springs Airport and Denver International Airport are the closest large airports.  There is a hub of recreational opportunities in the area with several lakes and reservoirs for fishing and boating, multiple golf courses, hiking in the Spanish Peaks Wilderness Area and Lathrop State Park.
