Cliff Lake Ranch
Property Description
Cliff Lake Ranch is located on the northeast base of Cornwall Mountain bordering about one and a half acres of the stunning Cliff Lake. The blue-green waters of Cliff Lake, set against a backdrop of volcanic rock, make for a majestic view. Located about 2.5 miles (as the crow flies) southwest of Jasper and 3.75 miles (as the crow flies) Northeast of Platoro, CO. This area is best known for its staggering mountain peaks and breathtaking scenery. Set in Hunting Unit 81, it is a prime area for big game hunting. The mountainous terrain provides excellent habitat for wildlife, with alpine meadows dominated by lodgepole pine. This region also has abundant Elk, Mule Deer, and Black Bears. This high alpine property which is virtually an inholding surrounded by National Forest, has seasonal access granted through a U.S. Forest Service Road Permit Program that provides an operation and maintenance plan. Old logging roads and trails cut through the timber, creating an effective trail system for maneuvering the property. Rio Grande National Forest offers recreational opportunities year-round, with hiking, fishing, camping, scenic driving tours, and much more. The area is famous for snowmobiling and skiing in winter. Cliff Lake Ranch also exemplifies all the characteristics pertinent to a conservation easement—keeping the land, wildlife habitats, and water protected for generations. Added benefits are future tax credits that can be sold and federal tax deductions.
