Story Tree Lodge sits on 35.20 acres deeded specifically to the homeowner, with access to over 3,700 acres owned by the Fish Creek Ranch community. Well-timbered with peaks, valleys, meadows, creeks and ponds, the ranch is easily traversable thanks to a well-cared for and masterfully developed trail system fit for horses and off-road vehicles. Spend the day riding from pond to pond catching fish, or head into Colorado through the community gate to explore or hunt National Forest. Maintained by a year-round ranch hand, the roads are plowed to your front door for worry free access during winter months. There is plenty of winter recreation on the ranch including snowmobiling or cross-country skiing. Operating as a wildlife preserve, Fish Creek Ranch attracts wildlife species of all kinds for your viewing pleasure. If you own horses, bring them along to the ranch and utilize the two stalls in your barn, or leave them in the care of the ranch hand! If not, Fish Creek Ranch may have horses for you to borrow when available.
HUNTING AND FISHING
Fish Creek Ranch operates as a wildlife preserve, so hunting is not allowed within the borders of the ranch. However, the ranch borders National Forest in Colorado Game Management Unit 8, allowing for quick and easy access to reliable Elk and Mule Deer hunting in Colorado. Unit 8 typically has Over-The-Counter tags for Elk and high draw odds for Mule Deer, allowing you to hunt year after year. Fish Creek Ranch contains multiple ponds for fishing, some of which are stocked, and some of which contain wild trout. Fishing access is not open to the public, giving homeowners and guests exclusive access to well-managed wildlife ecosystems.

The house was built using natural elements, some of which originate from the ranch. Nearing the home, you are welcomed by the wrap around porch, situated to face the vast prairie to the East. Upon entering through the mud room or main dual doors, the interior radiates a warm cabin feel that is both spacious, yet private where desired. In addition to modern heating, a stove or fireplace in almost every room provides warmth and an ambiance of true mountain living. If you enjoy hosting, the house is set up to entertain lavishly with a dedicated entertainment/auxiliary room and large back deck featuring a hot tub amongst the woods. Containing one bed, one bath, and a full kitchen, the guest cabin provides extra lodging when you have a full house.
