Either sex elk licenses for private land only are available through the draw for 1st season rifle hunters, archery, and muzzle loader. Unit 23 is liberal in allocating either sex private property elk tags, providing significant opportunities for residents and nonresidents to draw either sex elk tags with zero to one preference points. The availability of Mule Deer tags is another bonus! Preference point requirements are zero to one point to possibly draw a tag. This ranch offers everything required for wildlife to flourish from vegetation, water, and isolation for safety. Year round access is available from County Rd 63. An rugged 4x4 trail provides access from the west end of the property to the north/east end of the property. A cabin is located on a hillside just inside the property line which isolates human activity from wildlife. The front porch provides beautiful views up and down a valley vegetated with aspens, oak brush, pinyon, junipers, sage brush and grasses. The elevation ranges from 6,800 to 7,000 feet and allows for easy hiking. Two creeks and an earthen dammed pond provide year around water for wildlife and livestock.
